The Royal Watercolour Society an artist-led society made up of the finest practitioners in contemporary water-based painting. The Society is a centre of excellence for water-based media on paper. RWS have two galleries situated on Hopton Street and Whitcomb Street in Central London.
The Society approached PB Signs in need of signage to increase the prominence of their Gallery on Whitcomb Street. RWS wanted the gallery to be more visable to the public as there is such high footfall in nearby Pall Mall East and Trafalgar Square.
Our design team looked at various options and with the client and proposals were agreed for a classic hanging tray sign with an ornate bracket.
As the building dates back to 18oo’s and has a Grade II Listed Facade we undertook a lengthy process of Planning Permissions, Listed Building Consent, Heritage Statements and Installation Permits with Westminster City Council. Our Account Management Team carried out these applications on behalf of RWS.
Once we were given the go ahead the signage was manufactured and installed the following week and the Royal Watercolour Society are extremely happy with the results.
