PBS Expo Stand

THIS TIME, IT WAS OUR TURN

For this project, we were our own client!

As a signage and print manufacturer, we spend our days helping other businesses stand out. So, when it came to exhibiting at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2026, we wanted to practise what we preach.

As a Strategic Member of the Chamber, the Expo was a fantastic opportunity to connect with businesses across the two counties, showcase our capabilities and demonstrate how thoughtful exhibition design can make a real impact.

Alongside creating our own stand, we were also delighted to support the Chamber with a range of printed materials and signage used throughout the event.

PRACTICING WHAT WE PREACH!

We wanted to create an exhibition stand that did more than simply display our logo.

Our aim was to build a space that reflected the full breadth of what we do at PB Signs, from large-format printing and bespoke fabrication to illuminated signage, branded interiors and exhibition displays.

It needed to feel professional, welcoming and unmistakably PBS, while giving visitors a reason to stop, explore and start a conversation.

With a 4m x 2m corner shell scheme to work with, we had to make every part of the space count.

MAKING AN IMPACT WITH EXHIBITION WALL GRAPHICS

The starting point was the shell scheme itself.

Rather than treating the walls as a simple backdrop, we used them to create a fully branded environment that would immediately catch people’s attention.

Large-format printed graphics covered the back and side walls, featuring our refreshed PBS branding, key messages and photography showcasing our production facilities.

The predominantly black background provided a strong contrast against our white lettering and signature teal accents, creating a clean, contemporary look.

We also incorporated large-scale images of our workshop and printing equipment, giving visitors a glimpse behind the scenes and helping demonstrate the manufacturing capabilities we have in-house.

By making use of the full height and width of the shell scheme, we were able to create a much more immersive space without sacrificing valuable floor area.

ADDING DIMENSION WITH BESPOKE LETTERING

Of course, we couldn’t have a PB Signs exhibition stand without some actual signage!

We incorporated dimensional lettering to display our logo prominently across the back wall, creating a focal point that stood out against the printed graphics.

Rather than relying entirely on flat print, the raised lettering introduced another material and finish into the design, demonstrating how even a relatively simple logo can be transformed through bespoke fabrication.

It’s a technique we regularly use for reception areas, office branding and commercial interiors, so it was a great opportunity to show visitors what dimensional signage looks like in a finished environment.

A LITTLE TEAL LIGHTING GOES A LONG WAY

One of our favourite details was the addition of LED accent lighting.

We introduced slim teal lighting around the upper edges of the stand, as well as incorporating illuminated detailing into the counter and display shelving.

The lighting wasn’t intended to overpower the design. Instead, it added a subtle glow that highlighted the stand’s structure and brought our brand colour into the space.

Against the black graphics, the teal illumination created a particularly effective contrast and helped give the stand a more premium finish.

It was also a great example of how lighting can be used creatively within exhibition displays, retail environments and commercial signage to add depth and visual interest.

A COUNTER STAND THAT WORKED HARD FOR US

Of course, we couldn’t have a PB Signs exhibition stand without some actual signage!

We incorporated dimensional lettering to display our logo prominently across the back wall, creating a focal point that stood out against the printed graphics.

Rather than relying entirely on flat print, the raised lettering introduced another material and finish into the design, demonstrating how even a relatively simple logo can be transformed through bespoke fabrication.

It’s a technique we regularly use for reception areas, office branding and commercial interiors, so it was a great opportunity to show visitors what dimensional signage looks like in a finished environment.

LETTING OUR WORK SPEAK FOR ITSELF WITH DIGITAL DISPLAYS

We wanted to show the variety of work we produce without covering every available surface in photographs and text.

Digital screens provided the perfect solution.

We incorporated portrait-format displays featuring examples of our completed projects, product categories and the different sectors we work with.

Throughout the day, visitors could see everything from sports venue graphics and commercial signage to multi-site branding and bespoke manufacturing projects.

The changing content helped bring movement to the stand while allowing us to showcase far more work than would have been possible using printed displays alone.

Digital signage is also something we can incorporate into customers’ exhibitions and commercial environments, making it another useful product to demonstrate in person.

MERCHANDISE, BROCHURES AND FINISHING TOUCHES

An exhibition stand wouldn’t be complete without something for visitors to take away!

We installed bespoke shelving to display our branded merchandise, including reusable water bottles, mugs and cotton tote bags.

The shelving incorporated teal detailing and was positioned against the black exhibition graphics, making the products stand out while keeping everything organised.

We also displayed our printed brochures, each highlighting different industries and areas of our work.

Rather than filling the stand with stacks of literature, we wanted the printed materials to feel like part of the overall display.

We finished the space with a few decorative touches, including greenery and comfortable seating, to soften the look of the stand and make it feel more inviting.

A SIGNED ENGLAND SHIRT FOR FRIEDNLY COMPETITION!

We also wanted to give visitors another reason to stop by.

Our competition offered the chance to win a signed England cricket shirt, which we displayed in a framed presentation on the stand.

The shirt became a great talking point throughout the day, adding an interactive element to the space and helping us start conversations with visitors.

The framed display also fitted neatly into the wider design, showing how promotional features can be incorporated without compromising the overall look of an exhibition stand.

AND IT WASNT JUST OUR STAND WE WERE PRINTING FOR...

Alongside creating our own exhibition stand, we were delighted to support Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce with a range of signage and printed materials for the wider event.

With so many businesses exhibiting, clear wayfinding was essential. We produced large-format Foamex floor plans featuring the exhibition layout, stand numbers and exhibitor directory, helping visitors navigate the venue and find the businesses they wanted to meet. Displayed on freestanding easels, the lightweight yet rigid boards provided a practical and professional solution for the busy exhibition hall.

We also produced printed table talkers to showcase the event’s sponsors and partners. Featuring the Expo branding, sponsor logos and key information, these freestanding displays were positioned around the venue, giving supporting businesses additional visibility throughout the day.

Even the coffee area got the PBS treatment! We created a branded overhead fascia for Social Impact Coffee, with crisp white lettering against a black background that complemented the stand’s timber-effect frontage. It was a simple addition that gave the space a smart, professional finish while making the refreshments easy for visitors to find.

From large-format wayfinding boards to smaller promotional displays and bespoke coffee stand signage, it was great to see our work helping bring the whole event together, not just our own little corner of it!

SO, HOW DID IT ALL COME TOGETHER?

We’re used to seeing our work take shape for other businesses, so it was particularly satisfying to stand back and see everything come together for ourselves.

The finished stand combined many of our core capabilities in one space: large-format printing, bespoke fabrication, dimensional lettering, illuminated signage, digital displays and branded merchandise.

More importantly, it gave us a welcoming place to meet other businesses, catch up with familiar faces and introduce PB Signs to people who hadn’t worked with us before.

We were also pleased to play a part in the wider event, producing practical signage and promotional materials that supported the Chamber and its exhibitors.

The whole project was a reminder that you don’t need the biggest exhibition stand to make an impression. You just need to make the space work for your brand.
