THE CLIENT
Bromyard and Winslow Town Council represents the historic market town of Bromyard in Herefordshire, supporting local initiatives that enhance the town for residents, businesses and visitors.
THE PROJECT
With funding secured through the Great Places to Visit and Welcome Back schemes, the council worked with K4 Architects to deliver a town centre improvement project focused on celebrating Bromyard’s heritage, improving visitor navigation and promoting the town’s new Bromyard Bushel identity.
The project brought together local knowledge, creative design and bespoke signage to create a more welcoming and connected town centre.
THE SOLUTION
Our team manufactured a range of bespoke signage, carefully designed to complement Bromyard’s historic surroundings while creating a consistent, recognisable identity throughout the town.
Bespoke Information Totems
We produced a series of ‘You Are Here’ information totems, manufactured from aluminium trays with internally mounted fixing posts for a clean, seamless finish.
Each totem was wrapped in digitally printed vinyl featuring a realistic Corten steel effect, giving the appearance of naturally weathered metal. A gloss laminate was applied for additional UV protection and durability.
The finished totems provide visitors with useful information and interesting historical facts, combining contemporary signage with a finish that sits comfortably within the town’s heritage setting.

Directional Fingerpost Signage
To help visitors navigate the town, we also manufactured bespoke fingerpost signs using four-metre aluminium posts, finished with distinctive yellow toppers colour-matched to the new Bromyard branding.
Modular aluminium directional panels were securely bolted to each post, creating a practical, durable and visually consistent wayfinding system.
The routes and information featured across the signage were developed with input from the local community, drawing on their invaluable knowledge of Bromyard’s streets, landmarks and hidden connections.
Extending the Bromyard Brand
Our involvement went beyond the town centre signage.
We also supported the rollout of the new Bromyard identity through a range of branded merchandise, including T-shirts, hoodies, mugs and stationery, helping to build recognition and bring the destination branding to life.
THE RESULT
The completed signage forms part of a coordinated town centre wayfinding scheme that celebrates Bromyard’s character while making it easier for visitors to explore.
By combining bespoke fabrication, carefully selected finishes and consistent branding, the project demonstrates how well-designed signage can enhance public spaces without compromising their historic identity.
As a Worcestershire-based business, this was a particularly rewarding project for PB Signs, with several members of our team having close connections to Bromyard.
